Slashdotの記事で知ったのですがMozillaのOutlook対応プロジェクト The Lightning Project – Integrated CalendarからThunderbird拡張がリリースされていました．これまでのCalendar拡張や Sunbirdよりもメールソフトとの連携が強まっているのが特徴のようです．
公式サイトによると

-Improved CalDAV support
-Cached calendar support for offline calendar use
-Device synchronization
が特徴として挙げられていました．
“とりあえず出してみた”程度のようですが，これからの改善に期待です．
